With no less than 500W of high efficiency Class D amplifier powering a 300mm (12in.) Long throw ultra-low distortion driver, Model 208 floods the listening area with exuberantly extended, immaculately controlled bass. Output, phase and the low pass filter frequency can be adjusted to your preferences. With its acoustically inert hand-finished cabinet, Model 208 reproduces low frequency effects with precision as well as power.

Piano Black
Like the deeply lacquered mirror shine of a concert grand, the seductively smooth high gloss jet black finish accentuates the gentle curves of the Reference Series cabinets.
Satin Black
As sophisitcated and seductive as piano black but with a more understated and delicate sheen.
High Gloss American Walnut
Light to dark chocolate brown, occasionally with a purplish cast and darker streaks, growing more lustrous with age. The deep shine brings out the rich character of the slightly open, generally straight grain.
High Gloss Cherry
Prized for fine cabinet work and musical instruments because of its smooth texture, fine uniform grain and deep colour, cherry heartwood ranges from a warm burnt orange to rich red with occasional dark flecks.
Satin Sycamore
Creamy white to palest yellow, sycamore has a close, even texture with subtly interlocked grain and natural lustre. The preferred wood for violin backs, its natural lustre is brought out by a distinctive satin sheen.
Satin Walnut
As the lustre of high gloss does not appeal to everyone, the American Walnut veneer is also available in a satin finish. The same rich character of the walnut with its chocolate brown, purpulish hue and straight grain but with a more natural satin finish.
Satin Cherry
The same high grade quality veneer as the High Gloss Cherry but finished in a more subtle satin sheen, Cherry is one of the finest woods for any cabinet.

Bass Driver
Designed from the ground up the 450mm (18in.) bass driver is designed to give 60mm (2.36in.) peak-to-peak liner excursion. Advanced computer modelling techniques have been used to model and design the magnet system which is constructed using 24 neodymium magnets radially arranged around the voice coil of the driver. This unusual topology allows the unit to have a very long range of motion while maintaining a very strong magnetic field around the voice coil. Together with the double suspension and large roll surround the drive unit is capable of high levels of bass with very low distortion.
ACE
KEF’s innovative ACE (Acoustic Compliance Enhancement) technology allows the massive resulting bass extension (-3dB at 15Hz) to be realised without a disproportionately large enclosure. By filling the cabinet with activated carbon, ACE almost doubles effective cabinet volume.
DSP
Digital Signal Processing equalisation facilities incorporating six frequency response presets for both line and LFE inputs, together with a unique system for self-adjusting its own output to suit the acoustics of the room using automated measurements of the listening area via the microphone supplied. All DSP facilities together with volume, phase, polarity and crossover parameters are adjustable by remote control.
